Hong Kong, 19^th September 2011 –  Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific announces the launch of the new digital monochrome multifunction devices (MFDs), the ApeosPort-IV 5070 /4070 and DocuCentre-IV 5070 / 4070 series.  The new series combines cost efficiency, enhanced network security and environmental benefits with copy and print speeds of  45 / 55 pages per minute (ppm) respectively to help increase office worker productivity.

Developed utilising an open architecture technology, the ApeosPort-IV 5070 / 4070 enables businesses to further streamline their document capturing processes with advanced processing that helps automate business workflow and minimise costly human errors.

The highly modular ApeosPort-IV 5070 series multifunction devices give today's fast-paced office environment critical productivity advantage.  Daily tasks become more efficient, while intensive workplace processes are optimised with customisable workflow solutions to suit unique business requirements.

ApeosPort-IV 5070 / 4070 and DocuCentre-IV 5070 / 4070 expand on the technologies of a standard monochrome MFD with optimised office efficiency and enhanced environmental features including:

·          Top energy-saving performance in its class with lower Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) compared to previous MFDs.

·          Monochrome and color scan speed up to 70 images per minute (A4 long-edge feed, simplex).

·          USB memory slot (Scan to USB  and direct printing from USB) can be utilised from the user interface.

·          Realise further energy saving by using light-emitting diodes (LED) as light source for the scanning unit and a liquid crystal control panel.

Fuji Xerox's first monochrome MFD with 'Smart Energy Management Technology'

The new ApeosPort-IV 5070 / 4070 and DocuCentre-IV 5070 / 4070 series are equipped with the new 'Smart Energy Management Technology', which enables power to be distributed to areas for actual utilisation when a device recovers from energy-saving mode. 

With optimised control of recovery in just two seconds, the technology enables users to reduce power consumption without compromising on convenience and reduces start-up sound to keep office noise to a minimum.

High speed and powerful processor

The new ApeosPort-IV 5070 / 4070 and DocuCentre-IV 5070 / 4070 deliver optimal scanning process at up to 70 ppm, and come with an option to compress scanned data and digitise it in various file formats depending on purpose.  This significantly helps reduce print volume for circulars and distributions as these digital files can be stored on PCs or USB flash memory, or sent as email attachments. 

The scanner uses an LED lamp to reduce power consumption by approximately 80 per cent without compromising  image quality of scanned data both for color and monochrome. 

The new series is equipped with a powerful 1.2 Gigahertz Freescale processor.  This enables users to simultaneously perform multiple tasks more efficiently, such as performing a scan while another job is printing or send a fax while making copies.

Printing on the move

The new ApeosPort-IV 5070 / 4070 and DocuCentre-IV 5070 / 4070 support mobile printing on the iPad™, iPhone®, and iPod touch®.  Users can print web pages, contact addresses, and photos saved on the iOS device.  DocuWorks, Fuji Xerox's document handling software, and PDF documents can also be printed from a document viewer application such as DocuWorks Viewer Light for iPhone/iPad, making it ideal for businesses with a mobile workforce looking for more flexible printing options^Note1.

Security at every level

Fuji Xerox recognise the importance of security in the enterprise.  With Secure Print, print jobs can be held in the print queue until the user is authenticated, preventing unauthorised viewers from seeing documents. Image Overwrite complements this security feature by clearing all trace of any document image data remaining on the hard drive after a print, copy, scan or fax job (when enabled).
