Hong Kong, 12 June 2012 - LINE, the world's leading free calling and messaging service, has launched a new version for Windows® Phone. This version incorporates an optimised User Interface for Windows® Phone with the 'Metro' design. The move marks a significant milestone in LINE's bid to become the leading cross-platform mobile messenger.

The Windows® Phone version of LINE provides the optimum UI for Windows® Phone and includes special design features based on a thoughtful consideration of how to truly add value for users. It is created based on the 'Metro UI', using an intuitive and flat design which incorporates typographic elements, a horizontally panning layout, and large thumbnail images. Users can experience LINE in the expansive panorama view offered by Windows® Phone.

Along with the iPhone, Android phone, PC, and tablet versions, the new version features the familiar 'Family Look' which gives coherence to the app's identity across different platforms.

The Windows® Phone version of LINE supports almost every feature in the latest version of LINE for other platforms, including free video and audio messaging services, a wide range of free Stickers and Emoticons. Free 1:1 voice calls are also available, and a new 'Favourites' function, which enables users to register their close friends as 'Favourites' and create a link to those contacts in the home screen of their mobiles, will be added soon.

"We are expecting that the Windows® Phone version of LINE will be a hit with people who want to use their Windows mobiles to connect to the 40 million existing LINE users who have iOS or Android devices," said Cha Ji-eun (車知恩), senior manager, LINE Business Office, NHN Corp. "This milestone is a big step towards our objective of making LINE into one of the leading cross-platform mobile messaging apps. Alongside the Windows® Phone version, LINE will continue to support a range of mobile platforms so that users can enjoy LINE regardless of the device in their hand," Cha added.

The Windows® Phone version of LINE is available in the Windows Marketplace at http://www.windowsphone.com/zh-hk/apps/a18daaa9-9a1c-4064-91dd-794644cd88e7

and requires Windows® Phone 7.5 or higher.
